LiveBinders...Corey Hart Says Yes!
So the Lit Maven is doing some intense decluttering at home and at the office.
Amongst the treasures at home...TAPES!
Like:
Bjork
Sting
New Kids on the Block
and
Tommy Page!
Who?
Oh...that guy....
I guess that guy is now an Associate Publisher at Billboard Magazine!
So today I honor those students who absolutely live for music...and here is the LiveBinder
Kids Make Music Online...
thanks KB Konnected!
Corey Hart?? Lit Maven..
Yep...Happy 50th Birthday to the artist of the first tape I ever bought...Boy in the Box...favorite song, Never Surrender.

LiveBinders...Sookie Stackhouse Says Yes!
I have decided to give running another try.
In a previous post I mentioned my childhood anguish of being told that I ran like Van Halen.
Perhaps I still do. But if Van Halen can still play live then maybe it's a compliment...
Doubts Lit Maven!
Thanks...
Anyway...I go for my run...and run into 2 Canadian Geese..
This is a stock photo..but my geese looked similar...
They are on the sidewalk and the grass.
I decide to run between them.
The goose on the sidewalk...looks at me...and...
HISSES!!!
The Lit Maven got hissed by a goose!
No I do not have this on video...but I did find a Livebinder of AMAZING ANIMAL WEBCAMS!
Sookie Stackhouse...Lit Maven?
Okay...well kinda...more like Anna Paquin in Fly Away Home... but hey...it is about Geese.
Enjoy!

LiveBinders...Glass Tiger Says Yes!
Oh summers... how I wish I'd spent more time being insightful...Yes...Summer Reading is good...but perhaps some Summer Dreaming...
... like coming up with an "event" song
you know the ones that are played at grads and weddings...
Here's one from my grade nine grad.
End of the Road..by Boyz II Men
Someone else's grad... (I was already finished Uninversity)
Graduation by Vitamin C
And I have no proof...but I bet that this was played everywhere this year...
We are Young by Fun
So why can't the Lit Maven get it together...
Well here's the truth...
A traumatic Glee-like experience...circa 1986...
The Lit Maven was 11 and saying good-bye to grade six.
(This is from the movie Heathers ...same deal however..)
I might add ...with no training whatsoever...
We had to sing...to the entire school...
Lit Maven...I am so sorry...
I know...thanks for the cyber hug...
Lit Maven? Glass Tiger?
Oh yes...the ill fated song...imagine my 11 year old self...no instead feel free to laugh your head off...
Enjoy!
Until Next Time,

LiveBinders...Andrew McCarthy Says Yes!
Dear Blog,
This is how I feel....
"You without me...it's like cornflake without the milk." - Oran "Juice" Jones (4:08 minutes in)
Lit Maven, how do you find these connections?
I don't know... I think, like Gaga...I Was Born This Way...a writer...
But needless to say I know that I am a writer, offline and online but much better in front of my audience. The fact that you tune into my blog must mean that I speak to that inner pop culture heart. Like me, you think in movies and hope that one day this will happen to you...
Patrick and Jennifer Thanks for Making the Closing Number Inspiring!
"Lloyd...is that you?"
Jake...I Really Don't Have to Go to My Sister's Wedding Reception
I know right...it could happen...it could all happen...
Of course...I can't leave without a link to a LiveBinder: Look Who's Talkng on Twitter, Diigo, LinkedIn.
We all need to find ways to connect our writing to others....
Lit Maven?...Andrew?...
Yes!...as Blane, he was a writer too!
Enjoy!

LiveBinders...The Other Baldwin Says Yes!
You can't watch a movie without running into a "teacher". Sometimes they are called mentors...or jedi masters...but none-the-less they teach somebody something.
I think a lot of times we are in a mentor sandwich...looking up to someone while someone is looking up at you. Which makes it something like this?
(Betch ya didn't know that song was about stalking...did you...I know...creepy)
So how can you make the most of a mentor sandwich...KYT!
Know your tools!!!
Seriously....check out this LiveBinder
Web Tools for Teachers by Type
Lit Maven? The other baldwin brother...
Yep Billy Baldwin in Backdraft....Kurt Russell would be in the middle of this mentor sandwich. I like that it is filmed in Chicago...did I mention how loud their vehicles can get?
Anyway....
Enjoy!

LiveBinder...Mark Ruffalo Says Yes!
Yes, the Lit Maven saw the Avengers.
Liked it....
I think I preferred Iron Man I and Thor more...but this movie has the best Hulk ever!
However, Hulk would be difficult to manage in classroom situation..
In fact...a lot difficult.
In the movie he does behave all Hulk-ish as the other Avengers attempt to engage his interest...
But what if there are no Avengers at your school?...
I have good news for you...
LiveBinder time..... Student Engagement Playground created by Tim Wilhemus.
Actually this binder is quite timely...Well done Tim!
So Ruffalo...oh Ruffalo....
Sometimes the Hulk and other times rockin' out to Michael Jackson's Thriller!
Enjoy!

LiveBinders...BumbleBee Says Yes!
So the Lit Maven went to Chicago...and I returned....
with many tales to share....
1) There are an unusual amount of revolving doors in Chicago
....many...
and just like double dutch they terrify me...
Just when do you jump in?
Damn...that dog makes that look too easy.
2)Emergency vehicles in Chicago are louder than a cat....
Isn't that crazy!!!
3) Nerds live there!
Lit Maven - Farrah Fowler was so excited to be part of a podcast on Nerd City! Not sure when the podcast will be posted...but it was recorded on April 30th...I didn't say much...I was trying to behave after all...
Really Lit Maven....
I know right???
Here is an awesome LiveBinder dedicated to Chicago Museums.
BumbleBee? Lit Maven?? What???
Yep!...Chicago is host to many movies...
I stayed near Michigan Ave.....here it is in Tranformers 3...thankfully...less mess while I was there.
Enjoy!
Until Next Time,
Lit Maven Out!
