Live Binders! J.K. Rowling says YES!

Well, maybe...

We all know about the Hogwarts' textbooks...ahem...Fantastical Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Here's the thing...back in the 2014 I blogged all the time about LiveBinders. These are, if you didn't know, digital binders...just like real binders...without the ring pinches!

I just went back to mine and discovered something pretty cool.

If you click the square along the top left side of the banner, the binder outline appears.

And here is where it gets exciting...

Yes!

If you were to write a nonfiction book, you would be collecting research.  If you built a LiveBinder to collect your research, naturally adjusting tabs (left to right) and ordering subtabs (left to right) in the end you would have your desired structure. This may be obvious..or not. But what I love is that when you click on the outline view, the outline of the LiveBinder is completely revealed, in a very obvious way...the order of chapters for your book. In addition you can see where things might be out of order or need more research.

Right!!

I know it's not a huge deal but for me it is the little things. If I go back to visit all of my LiveBinders, the outlines reveal something new to me and help to focus my thinking.

Although, I have not made a LiveBinder in awhile, I'm back now! And there have been changes.

One of the new changes, as you know my journey is Google right now...it is suggested that you can now send your Live Binder link into a Google Classroom. This has huge implications for teaching, especially if a digital textbook is something that you wanted to build.

J.K. might like this idea for a new class at Hogwarts...or not...but here it is for you.

LiveBinders...Foo Fighters Say Yes!

This summer has been all about my health. I have been jogging and trying to get a restful sleep.

The jogging has been going well. While I am not speedy. I do have good form.



Well...yah.... the last guy in the clip is the most accurate reflection of my abilities but I should be able to clear a fence in a month or two.

Speaking of personal and professional  development, I found a LiveBinder called P2LN which is all about creating your own professional development plan.

Oh...ok...so I have misheard or mis-meaning (made this word up) song lyric issues....

While reflecting on the Foo Fighters...Best of You...I thought...

Yah...we should really giving the best of ourselves to others in relationships at home or at work.  (Note the link to professional development)

Of course...the song...really means that someone is bring you down or getting you offtrack...as in "someone is getting the best of, the best of you".

As the Lit Maven, I choose to prefer the first meaning...it's happier...more healthy...

LiveBinders...Magic Mike Says Yes!

Yes. I have seen it...twice! 

Twice...Lit Maven!

Yep.  But I learned a lot.

I am sure you did.

No seriously...the first time I watched with a group of ladies and the second time, with the Husband.

If you haven't seen it yet...Magic Mike is actually a couple movie or even like a buddy movie/TV show...kinda like Entourage.

Yes there is "dancing" but the other half of the movie addresses the lifestyle and morality.

When the producers were gearing their trailers towards a possible audience, they used a gender neutral one. However as opening day approached,  they edited their most recent trailer to bringing in the ladies. Which is too bad because it is a pretty good date movie.

It got me thinking about  "judging a book by it's cover." In this case...movie trailers but in other realms it is book trailers.  Just what does your book trailer say about your book and what audience are you trying to garner....
